Pro Mujer Bolivia, as part of the Pro Mujer microfinance network, has been serving low-income, self-employed women all over the country for more than 30 years. Pro Mujer mainly offers community lending products, supporting and empowering women with small loans, while providing health and education services.

Pro Mujer is present throughout Bolivia, reaching more than 120,000 clients. The strategy is to reach 1 million by 2025 thanks to digitalization. Pro Mujer measures clients’ Poverty Probability Index annually, finding that 14% of their clients live on less than $2.0/day.

Protecting the environment is a key objective for Pro Mujer, defining specifically 3 strategic guidelines in the CSR Policy: (1) Energy efficiency and savings; (2) Efficient use of water and paper; (3) Purchases and services with an ecological approach. Following these guidelines, Pro Mujer is currently offering individual loans to finance the purchase of electric vehicles.

Huruma: Transforming Lives

Huruma’s investment in Pro Mujer aims to transform the lives of smallholder farmers through the following theory of change:

Input: EUR 4,2 MM focused on agricultural financing.

Output: Increase its agri-portfolio by at least 1.0x Huruma’s investment.

Outcome:Increase >3,600 farmers’ crop yields and >3,000 families’ rural income*.
